Part Time Maths Teacher – Derby (QTS Required)
Location: Derby
Contract Type: Part Time Monday- Wednesday
Start Date: January 2026
Pay Rate: £130–£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Qualification: QTS required
Experience: Minimum 6 months’ teaching experience in a UK secondary school
Overview:
Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated Maths Teacher for a full-time position starting 5th of January. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Maths educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS4 and potentially Maths KS5.
The school is part of the Spencer Trust and is ofsted rated “Good” in all areas. The school is easily accessible from Derby City by public transport and close to the inner city ring road for drivers.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver the KS3 & KS4 Maths curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced Derby
Plan, prepare, and assess Maths lessons in line with department policy Maths
Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions
Contribute to department improvement planning y
Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents’ evenings as required
The Ideal Candidate:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching SUBJECT experience in a UK secondary setting
Is passionate about Business education and student achievement
Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
