Flexible Primary Teacher - Ripley (Cover Role)

Location: Ripley, Derbyshire
Contract Type: Flexible / Supply (day-to-day and short-term cover)
Start Date: Ongoing
Pay Rate: £150–£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Qualification Required: QTS (UK Qualified Teacher Status)

Overview

Education Personnel are supporting a well-established primary school in Ripley with the appointment of a Flexible Primary Teacher to provide cover across the school. This role is suited to a Primary Teacher who is confident stepping into different year groups and delivering planned lessons with consistency.

The school benefits from a spacious site with well-resourced classrooms, clear layouts, and good outdoor areas that are used regularly to support learning. Systems are clear and routines are well established, which helps cover staff settle in quickly.

Leadership is visible and organised, and there is a strong emphasis on clear communication and continuity for pupils during staff absence. Staff work closely together and expectations around behaviour, teaching, and handover are clear.

This role would suit a Primary Teacher looking for flexible work who still wants to be part of a structured and well-run primary setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, or KS2 as required
  • Maintain classroom routines and behaviour expectations in line with school policy
  • Ensure pupils remain engaged and on task throughout the school day
  • Adapt delivery where needed to support pupils of varying abilities
  • Complete basic handover notes for the class teacher
  • Support a positive and orderly learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching in a UK primary school
  • Confident covering different year groups when required
  • Clear and calm classroom presence
  • Able to follow lesson plans and school procedures
  • Reliable, organised, and flexible with availability
